Multi-detector CT (Computed Tomography) and CTA (Computed Tomography Angiography)
Multi-detector CT scan is a non-invasive medical test that combines special x-ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce multiple images or pictures of the inside of the body. The multi-dimensional detector array permits CT scanners to acquire multiple slices or sections simultaneously and greatly increase the speed of CT image acquisition for diagnostic imaging.
A coronary computed tomography angiogram (CTA) is a heart-imaging test that helps your doctor determine whether fatty deposits or calcium deposits have built up in your coronary arteries, the arteries that supply blood flow to the heart.
Both CT Scan and CTA exams are painless, fast and easy. If an intravenous contrast material is used, you will feel a slight pin prick when the needle is inserted into your vein. You may have a warm, flushed sensation during the injection of the contrast materials and a metallic taste in your mouth that lasts for a few minutes.
Precise Diagnostic Imaging was amongst the first to introduce the multi-detector CT into the country and to perform non-invasive CT coronary angiography with high quality images and results.
