Fluoroscopy is an examination of the tissues and deep structures of the human body using X-ray imaging devices. It’s a technique that uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images of the interior of a human body. In its simplest form, a fluoroscope consists of an X-ray source and a fluorescent screen, between which a patient is placed. A fluoroscope allows a Doctor/clinician to see the internal structure and function of a patient, so that the pumping action of the heart or the motion of swallowing, for example, can be watched. This is useful for both diagnosis and therapy and occurs in general radiology, interventional radiology, and image-guided surgery.
At Precise Diagnostic Imaging, we use digital fluoroscopy to perform all the special X-rays which include; All Barium studies (Enema, Meal, swallow and follow through), ascending and descending urethrogram, hysterosalpinogram, fistulogram, urinary tract, musculoskeletal etc. Fluoroscope procedures require certain preparation instructions to follow. We’ll also have you change into a gown and remove any jewelry or metal in the area that we plan to image. Be sure to let the radiologist/radiographer to know if there’s any chance the patient might be pregnant before we perform your fluoroscopic exam.
We have the state of the art fluoroscopy machine for these examinations with highly trained and skilled staff to handle patients for these procedures and generate quality and trusted diagnosis
